I know it's kinda late to be posting this but I was asked about it a lot. Where have we been? Sick. Again! After we recovered from the strep throat we got for Christmas, we got it again. Right after coming into contact with the students again. Shoot!
I want to say thank you to our post master who secretly gave me a strep test so we knew wether or not we had it again. Thanks to the lady at the Fairbanks clinic who had lived in the bush before and filled a prescription for me and Joe the day before she left on vacation without us having to go to town. Thanks also to our handy man who went and picked up our meds and got them on the airplane for us the next day! We didn't have to leave the village (the second time). It was just one blessing and one miracle after the other. Thank GOD for orchestrating it all!
While we were in Fairbanks both the boys got their hair cut (by a crazy man who thought because he was a Christian he was perfect. BAH hahahaha!) and I got to see Breaking Dawn part 1! Oh my gosh I was so excited! Once we returned home we were told it was a good thing we were away as everyone in the village (well mostly) was wasted and there was no water for days! AND they went around 'singing' carols. YIKES! So glad we weren't here for that. On a side note they did come to the house. One person said they had come by the house but realized I wasn't there (duh she went with Joe) but knew the dog had heard them so they left. Just so you know... we took the dog with us. Whatever they heard was in their head but I am glad for it.
We sold our SUV while in Fairbanks. Not only that but the man who bought it had his girlfriend drop off a car that we could borrow. So that is why we got haircuts and movie night. We were able to drive without paying for a taxi or rental. What an unexpected blessing! That trip was full of things like that though. So amazing! Anyway, the roads were frozen and the weather was crazy but we made it! Here are some of the photos from "town"
My obviously sick little Molly :(
