Spring is in the air

Ma! You said ONE more!

My sweet babies

I plan on hanging these next few in the bathroom

Gavin Xavier almost 7 years old!

We have this picture with a much younger Gavin hanging on our wall

Macy Holiday 4 years old

The girls are both wearing their Poppy Twirls. They just love them!

Molly Clara almost 3 years old

Arwen Elora 4 months old

While Ma was in town we took the kids to the buttercup field. We go every Spring and were just lucky enough it had bloomed before she left because it's been a kind of tradition since Gavin was a wee one. It was extra special this time because while we were taking pictures Liz from The Biggest Loser ran by! We were so excited. It's such a secluded place you don't expect to meet anyone let alone a celebrity! She was fantastic! She chatted with us and even let us take a picture with her! I will not post it out of respect for her. After all she was (looking great!) in workout clothes and I am sure she wouldn't be thrilled to stumble upon it hahaha! Anyway it was the only nice day while Ma was here so we made the best... and God made it better.
Happy Spring everyone!
Love,
Alice

Time for a change

Most of you have heard but some of you have not and still some just didn't believe it. I have in fact changed my name. It's legal, a done deal. I will henceforth be known as Alice Marie Waarvik.
"Why would you do that?"
Because I never like my name and thought it's simple enough to change so why not?!
"But what will your parents think?!"
Mom is very supportive. I am an adult and have done nothing illegal or immoral. After all God does not care what I call myself. Rev. 2:17 "... and I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it." I seriously doubt that my parents, or myself, have picked the same name God chose for me. Dad says, "Christina is the name I chose for you and I will never acknowledge this." Most of us know how well his choices work out for him. Don't take that wrong... I LOVE my Dad. He just seems to think differently than I do. (Sorry Dad.. you know it's true)
"But how would you feel if your children decided to change the names you worked so hard picking out for them? Huh?!"
Honestly, I think I would probably feel a little bummed for a minute. Then I would shake it off because at that point they will be adults and can make their own choices. As long as these choices don't interfere with their walk with God, which is more important than anything, why would it matter? I will add that if Molly changed her middle name (Clara Marie) I would be sad for longer than the others. We named her after my Grandmother on my father's side (Edith Clara) who is so very important to me. Marie comes from my mother's side of the family.
"How did you come up with Alice?"
This will make you laugh. I was reading Twilight over Christmas vacation. (It is still hard for me to be in a vehicle for long so reading kept me very much occupied.) One of the Cullen's name is Alice. I loved her personality and I thought, "I could definitely be an Alice." Joe liked it and I thought it over awhile and that was that. I also have a CRAZY Aunt Alice... who apparently has an Aunt Alice too... so it's a family name as well as a fun name.
"You will regret this."
Nope. I feel great. Like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Like I am finally me.
And just to top things off I put hot pink streaks in my hair, bought a new dress, and converse shoes (all on sale of course). It is the first time in a looong time I have done something for myself! Watch out world. Here come those crazy Waarviks!

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments. I seriously don't mind. I LOVE honesty above all things.
