Rough times and good food

These days have been really hard for us. Please keep us in your prayers as we struggle with our home sickness, our community, and our jobs. There is lots of alcohol going around the village. Joe's job has become practically impossible with the few new students we have. I was the replacement post master for a total of 4 days... worst decision I have made in a long time. EXCEPT for the fact that I was there just long enough to accept one of the best gifts ever! My Aunt sent a "Happy Spring" box of fruit!!! The pears are our favorite because they are so incredibly juicy and tasty. I can't explain just how amazing gifts like this make us feel... especially when we are feeling so stressed.
Molly insisted I take a picture with Gavin's cool new camera. There was a little concert going on next to us and this pear was more interesting to her... can you blame her though?! It was delicious!

We also had some music teachers in this week at the school. When they left today they left us with some delicious humus mix and a variety of other health foods. The lady teacher heard about my struggles that day and left me with a beautiful turquoise stone saying that it would bring me protection. I will gladly wear it to remember that my God is my rock and will always be watching out for me. I hope to see those guys again soon! It was nice to have company again.

Gavin learning to play 'fiddle' with P. and J. All 4 of our kids prefer violin to guitar (the only two instruments available this week).
There is a lake in front of the house where all the snow has melted and congregated. We have to walk through the school to get to the house. The path from the school to our house is still covered in slippery chunks of snow and deep puddles. Mr. Handy Man has to park the truck in front of the school now.

Today is Joe's birthday. He has the students (and some villagers) convinced he is 40! They keep commenting on how YOUNG he looks hahaha! I love that guy!

Tomorrow is Gavin's birthday!

I am working hard on an iMovie project to show the village during our graduation party coming up. I hope to post it here when I am finished with it. We have had such an incredible life changing year and I want to share some of it with all of you who support us with prayer and encourage us to keep going. We appreciate you all!

I am sorry you all are having such a rough time. I can only imagine what 40 must feel like! I hope Joe and Gavin had great birthdays.
