Life

Well, we made it back to Chapel Hill and have just been enjoying being willfully homeless; its really been a good chance to catch up with everyone we haven't seen in forever. It is interesting how quickly we can fall back into being at home in Chapel Hill; I guess we weren't gone long enough to get the "you can never come home" feeling, because this sure feels like home. We've stayed a night at Glen's house, two nights at the Ward's, a night at Jim's, and the rest at Donna's, and have had two parties since getting back :-) Now, we were planning on heading on to Disney World for five days and Florida for two whole weeks (both of Christina's grandparents), coming back for 6 days and then heading up to the Upper Penninsula for some awesome camping, but...
Night before we had to leave, Christina had to go to the E.R. to check on Baby #4; the good people at Williamson Medical Center did an ultrasound and told us that there was either a tear in the amniotic sac or a blood clot, but couldn't tell us much else (since she isn't 20 weeks pregnant, they wouldn't take us to the O.B/GYN floor)...the next day we called a midwife in Pulaski (highly recommended) and she told us to go BACK to the E.R., so we went down to Hillside in Pulaski; the doctor there was AMAZING, a southern Serbian (southeastern european), had us cracking up, but everyone was able to fill us in a little better. As of right now, the baby is healthy and growing; there is a hemmorage BELOW the baby that is growing and is a cause of some concern. The prescription: ABSOLUTE BEDREST for Christina? I asked, so, what exactly do you mean by bedrest...he told us if she came back clean, he would turn into a beast and yell at us because she's not even allowed to shower or bathe! 22 weeks stuck on the couch, cancel all vacations...that's where we are at right now, but we'll see if anything changes after the appointment today! The plan right now is for me to be Mr. Mom, riding off the money we got for the auto settlement and getting a rental for 6 months asap...Christina is already complaining about the bedrest, I told her she was an old pro after being stuck in a bed after the auto accident...that girl has ALL the fun :-) Oh, and I haven't even told you the worst news yet...the absolute most horrible gosh-awful news...its another GIRL :-)
