Help save us crafters!

Save Handmade! BuyHandmade.org

This new law is going to make it impossible to sell our handmade goods that are intended for children 12 years old and younger... not just toys though EVERYTHING! No more blankets from Grandmas (because the way I took it you can't ship things considered toxic in the mail and this is now toxic because most of us can't afford to test our items for lead), no more hand carved puzzles or trains, no more cute Sunday dresses, or children's art! I am so upset about this! How could they let this get this far? I have hope that by February 10th they will have changed this so that people like me can continue to sell the things I enjoy making most (children's clothes) but we need everyone to get involved! Vote, write letters, or just pray for us. ALL of those things would be appreciated by all of us crafters. Here is a bit more info for you

The slideshow at the top of our blog is of items that will be deemed toxic by the CSPIA law. It was meant to protect our kids from foreign toys with lead in the paint and as you can see that is not all the law covers! Watch the slideshow... how many of those are actually toys? How many do you think the maker filled with lead?
Thanks to those who let me use their items/photos!

oh and SPREAD THE WORD! Most people don't know about this. It hasn't gotten a lot of media attention because of the election and such. So tell everyone START AN UPROAR! LOL!
